The sound stopped on its own

That is the timer. Sleep.fm stops when the countdown ends, fading out over the last five minutes. Pick Endless to play all night. Change the default under Settings → Default timer.

Can the timer wake me up?

No. The timer stops playback; it is not an alarm. Do not rely on Sleep.fm to get you up.

I paid and the app is still locked

Open Settings → Restore purchases. The purchase is tied to your Apple or Google account, so it follows you across devices at no extra cost. If nothing unlocks, email us with the address on that account — we have no access to it, but it helps us locate the purchase.

How do I cancel my subscription?

There isn’t one. Sleep.fm is paid once, forever. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.

Can I hear a locked sound before buying?

Yes. Tap a locked sound and it plays a short preview — not looped, not in a mix. It is there so you can hear before you decide.

How do I layer sounds?

Tap a sound and it plays. Tap another and they layer, up to six. Drag a layer to balance it, tap its icon to remove it.

The widget does nothing

The widget drives the app, which must be installed on the same device. After an update, remove and re-add it — the system sometimes caches an old configuration. It starts a saved mix, so save one first.

Playback stops when I switch apps

It should not: Sleep.fm keeps playing in the background and on the lock screen. If another app takes the audio (a call, a video), Sleep.fm resumes on its own when it is handed back. If it does not, tell us which app and which phone model.

What data do you collect?

No account, no email, no ads, and your mixes never leave your phone. The app sends anonymous usage — which sounds are used, when a night ends — and that can be switched off in Settings. Everything works the same if you switch it off. Details in the privacy policy.

Deleting my data

Uninstalling the app deletes everything it keeps on the device. For the anonymous usage data, email us: since we hold no name or email, give us your device model and roughly when you used the app.
